UDT examination for cranes

Cranes are devices that require appropriate qualifications for operation. The future operator must sign up for course for gantriesand then take the exam before the UDT commission. The UDT exam is divided into two stages - oral theoretical exam and practical exam.

Theoretical exam (oral):

  • Theoretical exam duration: 1 hour.
  • Exam questions are divided into sets according to authorization categories.
  • During the examination, the members of the commission ask the examiner 5 questions, including 2 general questions and 3 for a given type and scope of qualifications.
  • The exam result is positive when the candidate correctly answers at least 1 question in the general part and 2 questions in a given category of qualifications.

Practical exam:

  • Duration of the practical examination: 1 hour.
  • During the examination, the members of the commission determine the examiner a practical task to be performed.
  • The exam result is positive when the examined person carries out all the maintenance activities correctly.

In the theoretical part, the examination committee asks clients questions related to the subject of the gantry course.

The scope of theory for the practical exam for gantry cranes:

  • construction of devices and mechanisms of the device
  • conditions for safe work when operating devices
  • cooperation with hook and whistleblowers
  • work in specific conditions
  • types of handling equipment covered by the scope of the authorization
  • load capacity (load characteristics)
  • dangerous damage and accident - procedure to follow
  • electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment
  • knowledge of the operating instructions in the field of operation
  • knowledge of legal regulations in the field of device operation
