About us - CSO

HDS crane

We are a company that has been active in the training market for the last fifteen years. We have a wide range of offerings, from UDT training to SEP training. Our offer includes a course on HDS - a training that includes both theoretical and practical elements, conducted by our highly qualified training staff. At OSO we combine professional courses with affordable prices - in this respect we stand out from other training centres. We conduct our activities throughout Poland, with our main branch in Warsaw. What's more, in the case of organised groups, we can send our trainers to carry out exercises at the client's premises. In addition, larger groups can count on favourable discounts (for closed - organised groups only).

Requirements from candidates

We require our training participants to:

  • completed eighteen years of age,
  • education at least at primary level,
  • a certificate issued by the occupational physician indicating that there are no health contraindications to taking the course.

We prepare our clients for the UDT exam in both the theoretical and practical parts. Candidates must pass both tests in order to be qualified.

  • additional study material (revision tests).

Entitlements

In order to operate a handling crane, it is required to have a certificate of the ability to operate it - an HDS licence. The Office of Technical Inspection is responsible for examining the candidates for the operator and issuing the licence - it organises the exam, which consists of two parts - practical and theoretical. For this reason, at OSO we conduct both lectures and exercises in training facilities. Our aim is to provide up-to-date information and teach participants how to operate HDSs, as well as to prepare them for and successfully pass the exam.

Our offer

At OSO, we offer a fresh start, i.e. an adaptation of the level of teaching to the client's needs - we assign participants to each group according to the results they have obtained in the competency test. In this way, we are able to provide each trainee with authoritative training and the necessary knowledge. We also offer additional materials to consolidate our client's knowledge. These include revision tests, which we send out electronically so that you can work through them at your leisure. For those who wish, we offer the possibility of theoretical training remotely - in the form of a webinar. We also conduct practical exercises in specially prepared training facilities under the watchful eye of cadres who will help you learn and train you in the correct use of the crane.

Curriculum

In our training you will learn about:

  • health and safety regulations before, during and after work,
  • HDS crane operator duties,
  • familiarise yourself with the equipment's technical and operational documentation,
  • construction - technical issues,
  • correct operation of the equipment,
  • daily operation of the equipment in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions, i.e. visual inspection of the equipment, checking for leaks in components, operation of hydraulic locks, extending props, checking locking and securing.

Scope of training

During our training sessions, we teach all the necessary skills as well as the technical knowledge needed to operate this equipment correctly. To ensure that our clients are able to operate the crane on a day-to-day basis, we familiarise them with the equipment which, due to its characteristics - mechanical drive and high lifting capacity - is the ideal machine for carrying out construction, assembly and service work. When operating the HDS crane, our trainees learn how to perform basic manoeuvres for handling, loading and assembly work. After completing the training and passing the UDT exam, operators will be able to find employment in many companies performing construction and industrial work. Thanks to the skills acquired, our trainees will be able to carry out proper assembly and lead construction and loading work. The licences and qualifications acquired will also help them find work.

Capacities of cranes

Depending on the model, the design of the crane may vary and, at the same time, the work may require an appropriate approach to manoeuvring. Leaving aside quality considerations, which depend on the brand of the equipment in question, an HDS crane for loading timber, for example, will be fitted with special grapples to replace the hooks from the 'original' version of the equipment. Cranes designed for basic work will have a rigidly mounted structure on the crane chassis and their boom will operate in two planes, enabling them to transport goods quickly and efficiently - loading/unloading work.
