Oxyfuel cutting is one of the most popular methods used to separate metals, and is particularly important when it comes to cutting low-carbon and low-alloy steels. This cutting involves bringing the materials to a temperature where ignition occurs, then burning and blowing off the liquid metal oxides thanks to a high-pressure oxygen jet. The popularity of this method is due to its high efficiency, and this comes from the reliable design of the burner. It is responsible for blowing out the oxygen, first mixing it in the right proportion with the combustible gas. What combustible gases are used for the heating process? The most common are: 

  • propane-butane, 
  • acetylene.

  • the entire set of parts needed for the burner.

These cuts are used when thick steel materials need to be cut. The extensive possibilities for this type of cutting make the work much more efficient and trouble-free. The technique is most commonly found in workshops and businesses, but it can also be used for personal use in the home workshop.  

What is plasma? 

It is ionised matter whose state of aggregation can resemble a gas. It consists of charged and electrically inert particles. Plasma contains ionised atoms and electrons, while the plasma volume is electrically inert. It is commonly referred to as the fourth state of matter. 

What is plasma cutting?

It is the melting and ejection of material from a slit by means of a highly concentrated plasma arc; in addition, no heating is needed for this, as in oxyfuel cutting. Plasma cutting makes it possible to cut all kinds of electrically conductive materials. Thanks to the continuous expansion of this method's functionality, it has become widespread and widely used. It is very efficient and fast, and is therefore beginning to replace oxygen cutting. With such rapid and strong development, this method is conquering the market.
