Course on mobile platforms - operation and maintenance

Mobile platforms are devices used in assembly, construction and maintenance works. This training allows you to obtain authorization to operate or maintain, among others: aerial platforms (aerial platforms), scissor lifts and other mobile platforms. Raising qualifications in this area significantly increases the chances on the labor market. Having qualifications for mobile platforms makes it easier to find a job in companies dealing with building maintenance, energy companies, construction and transport companies. Having such entitlements, you can also provide rental services for aerial work platforms (lifts). In turn, completing the maintenance course allows you to work in the service of mobile platforms. The course prepares you for the UDT and TDT examinations carried out by the Office of Technical Inspection, as well as by the Transport Technical Inspection.

Platform course - why is it worth it?

Benefits of being authorized to operate and maintain this type of equipment:

  • Higher qualifications are a chance for a better job. Employees with specialist qualifications are much more often sought by employers and can count on a much higher salary.
  • Wide scope - the rights for mobile platforms apply not only to the most popular devices, i.e. self-propelled platforms, but also to many other types of lifts.
  • For employers: a greater number of qualified employees is a guarantee of timely execution of orders for clients. It also allows participation in tenders organized by local governments and other units, where it is often required to have employees with appropriate qualifications.
  • Opportunity to start your own business: rental of aerial work platforms and carrying out work with this type of equipment is a service often sought by customers.
  • Completing the course in the maintenance of booms and passing the UDT and TDT exam entitles you to perform periodic inspections, servicing the equipment, and assessing its technical condition. These are the skills desired on the labor market that allow you to find employment practically "immediately" or to provide services on your own.

Who is the course for?

UDT qualifications for mobile, stationary or suspended platforms are required for operators, installers, fitters, employees of construction companies or people dealing with large-format advertising.

Forms of education: online and stationary

We conduct trainings for operators and maintenance technicians at the client's premises - throughout Poland, in SPA branches in most large cities with UDT branches: Warsaw, Kraków, Katowice, and also in Silesia (Bielsko-Biała, Gliwice). If a larger number of people from a given city or region express interest in obtaining qualifications, instructors can go anywhere in Poland.

To make it easier for candidates for platform operators to gain qualifications, online courses have been launched. It is a convenient way to prepare for the UDT exam without having to travel to the place of training.

What does the online course look like?

  1. Participants receive a login and password with which they log in to the course platform.
  2. The lecturer transmits knowledge live, using various forms of knowledge transfer: lecture, asking questions to participants, discussion, quizzes.
  3. Finally, the participants' knowledge is verified with a test.

In the case of the course for the operator of mobile platforms, it is required to supplement with stationary classes.

UDT exam and training

The center deals not only with teaching and transferring knowledge to students, but also with the organization of the UDT exam for mobile platforms. The price of the training includes the costs of organizing the exam: access to didactic and technical facilities and equipment, as well as full representation in the coordination of the process of checking qualifications by the Office. Thanks to such support, participants can be examined faster than if they applied to the UDT themselves. This translates into a high pass rate of exams - students are up to date with knowledge and do not have to remember it again.

The exam can be organized in two ways:

  1. Training in operation or maintenance may be scheduled in such a time as to correspond to the first possible date set by the Office of Technical Inspection. The waiting time is usually around 30 days.
  2. The training can be scheduled so that the examination is organised immediately after the training, on the next working day. This requires much advance planning - usually more than 30 days in advance. It may also involve higher costs (please contact us for details).

It should be remembered that the date of the exams is decided by the Office of Technical Inspection. Permissions may be granted in an accelerated manner, however, it must be determined individually by the Center, which contacts the Office in this matter. The center is not responsible for the results of the exams or for the participant's absence within the prescribed period.

Common questions

What do we provide in the course price?

  • Theoretical classes - stationary or online, in the form of a webinar
  • Practical
  • Access to the educational platform with training materials for participants, videos, mock exams in the form of tests
  • UDT tests facilitating preparation for the UDT exam, in the form of questions and answers with solutions
  • Issue of a simplified course completion supplement
  • If so agreed with the client - issuing a certificate in the form of a plastic card with a photo (according to ISO 18878)
  • Access to different types of devices
  • Necessary health and safety equipment, harnesses, protective vests
  • Refreshments during breaks during classes: coffee, tea, cookies
  • Possibility of mediation in the accommodation of participants and the organization of meals

How long does the training take?

The duration of the training is adjusted to the needs of the participants and their previous experience.

Service classes:

  • 8 hours - for people with practical experience
  • 20 hours - for people who have knowledge and skills, but want to supplement or update them
  • 35 hours - for people with no experience

Maintenance classes:

  • 32 hours - for people who meet the minimum requirements and have experience in the field of mechanics or electrics (for one of the types or types of devices)
  • 58 hours - supplementary training for 2 types / types of devices
  • 96 hours - training on 2-3 types / types of devices, for people with no experience in maintenance

Is the exam alone enough?

The additional obligation of training results directly from the Labor Code and general and specific health and safety regulations. The regulations impose an obligation to train employees in the field of work safety when using technical devices. It also results from the necessity to follow the operating instructions for mobile platforms. Sometimes, device manufacturers require that each person be trained so that they take control of the device from the operator in the event of an accident. In addition, the regulations impose an obligation to train in working at height and evacuation of people who may be trapped as a result of failure of the device and the emergency lowering system.

How is the operation and maintenance exam done?

The exam for the operator takes the form of a written test and practical tasks extended by, inter alia, questions regarding the assessment of the technical condition of the device.

Are the qualifications recognized internationally?

If the participants have such a need, the Center may issue a certificate or certificate of completion of the course in English. Such certificates can be accepted as proof of qualifications in countries that do not have a system of regulating the profession. The center applies appropriate standards in this regard, including ISO 18878 as well as ISO 17024 and ISO 29990. The certificate does not, however, replace UDT licenses in Poland.
